Clearly, both the new 2023 Kia EV6 and new 2024 Kia Niro EV have a long list of benefits. We’d like to point out the differences between both models so that you can decide which EV is best for you. To start, you’ll notice that the Kia EV6 is a touch more expensive than the Kia Niro EV — the Kia EV6 has a starting MSRP of $42,600 while the Kia Niro EV is at $39,600.1 It’s up to you (and your budget) if a $3,000 difference in price matters. There’s also a difference in the best EPA-estimated all-electric driving range: the Kia EV6 promises 310 miles and the Kia Niro EV promises 253 miles.2 The difference in miles is probably due to the contrasting battery voltage, among other things. The Kia EV6 starts off with a 522.7-volt battery, but you can upgrade to a 697-volt battery with the Wind (RWD) trim. The Kia Niro EV has a standard 358-volt battery across both available trims. Want more power and range? We recommend the Kia EV6. However, while both EVs can seat five passengers, the Kia Niro EV has a larger maximum cargo volume at 63.7 cubic feet. If you need more space for your belongings, we recommend the larger Kia Niro EV.
