Sporty, solid, satisfying to drive — all words we’d use to describe the new 2024 Kia Sportage. This crossover SUV is impossible to ignore, boasting a striking silhouette and available two-tone paint colors. While the new 2023 Nissan Rogue has its fans, we can’t say we’d recommend it over the new 2024 Kia Sportage in any way. These SUVs have similar starting MSRPs, with the Kia Sportage costing $820 less than its rival.2,3 Both vehicles can be equipped with available drive modes for taking on various terrains, but only the Kia Sportage can be equipped with a hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain — so if you’re looking for sustainability and fuel savings, choose the Kia. The Nissan Rogue is promoted as being a great family car, but there are a variety of areas where the Kia outshines the Nissan in terms of convenience, safety and comfort. You’ll have an extra 3.1 cubic feet of cargo space (with the rear seats upright) if you choose the Kia, plus a standard dual-level cargo floor (perfect for stowing items securely out of sight). The Kia Sportage can be equipped with available Safe Exit Warning, which alerts you when it’s not safe to leave the vehicle due to passing traffic. The Nissan Rogue doesn’t have this feature. As the cherry on top, the largest available touchscreen display in the Kia Sportage is 3.3 inches larger than that of the Nissan Rogue, meaning tech lovers will far prefer the Kia to its rival.
